Project Overview

Pro Tuning is one of Mauritius's most established online destinations for automotive accessories, performance parts, and car care products. Webmate originally built the platform in 2018 and was engaged in 2026 to execute a comprehensive revamp — modernising the design, improving site performance, and significantly enhancing the product filtering and search capabilities to match the growing catalogue and increasingly demanding user expectations.

The core technical challenge of this project was the advanced multi-filter category system. Car accessories are a uniquely complex product category — a customer looking for a specific part needs to filter simultaneously by vehicle make, vehicle model, year of manufacture, product category, brand, and price range. We built a fully custom PHP filter engine on top of WooCommerce that allows customers to narrow down thousands of products to exactly what fits their specific vehicle in seconds, without page reloads.

The 2026 revamp addressed both the visual identity and the technical foundations of the platform. The design was brought in line with modern e-commerce standards — cleaner product listings, improved mobile experience, faster page load times, and a more intuitive navigation structure. The underlying WordPress and WooCommerce installation was fully audited, outdated plugins were replaced, database queries were optimised, and the hosting environment was reconfigured for significantly better performance.

The result is a platform that serves the Mauritius automotive community with a professional, fast, and easy-to-navigate shopping experience — whether a customer is searching for a specific performance upgrade for their vehicle or browsing the latest car care range.
