Project Overview

Johaness Spa & Coiffure is one of Mauritius's most established luxury wellness destinations, offering a comprehensive range of spa treatments, beauty services, and coiffure experiences for both women and men. The treatment menu spans bodywork therapy, body sensation treatments, beauty treatments, grooming care, hand and feet care, and an exclusive male executive collection — positioning Johaness as a full-spectrum wellness brand rather than a single-category beauty provider. Webmate built the brand's digital showcase in 2018 and has maintained the relationship through subsequent updates.

The visual and creative brief for this project demanded the language of luxury wellness — the same sensibility found on the websites of five-star resort spas and international wellness brands. Every design decision, from the full-screen photography sequences in Slider Revolution to the typography choices and colour palette, was made in service of communicating serenity, expertise, and premium quality. The goal was for a visitor to feel the atmosphere of Johaness from their screen before they ever walked through the door.

The treatment menu architecture required careful information design — Johaness offers an exceptionally broad range of services, and presenting them in a way that is both comprehensive and easy to navigate was a central challenge. We structured the menu across six dedicated treatment categories, each with its own page presenting the specific services available, the benefits, and the sensory experience the client can expect. The coiffure offering was positioned as a separate but complementary strand of the brand, given its own dedicated section to attract both existing spa clients and new hair service customers.

Johaness Spa & Coiffure is part of the wider Johannes Group — a multi-brand hospitality portfolio that includes cruises, restaurant, and other leisure experiences across Mauritius. The website positions the spa as the premium wellness pillar of the group, and the brand's ongoing evolution — including potential expansion to new locations — is supported by a digital platform that can scale to accommodate that growth.
